Park Shin Hye on MBC's FM4U Radio Show

Late Wednesday night, Park Shin Hye was a guest star on MBC's FM4U radio show called "Blue Night - <여배우들 Actresses>" which was DJ-ed by the lead singer of Brown Eyed Soul, Jeong Yeop Ahn. The show lasted 2 hours starting 12am until 2am (Korean Standard Time).

During her on-air time, fans tuning in online can send her messages. The message board (or chatbox) was overloaded with heartwarming messages telling Shin Hye to "fighting!" and that she was doing very well. Interestingly enough, half of the messages were requests for Shin Hye to sing "Lovely Day" live on radio.

She revealed, “During my break, I went overseas and found that I had a Russian fanclub with over 2,000 members. I’d love to receive an opportunity to do a Russian CF sometime.”
The actress was then asked to rank her former co-stars (Jang Geun Suk, Jung Yong Hwa, Lee Min Ho, Kim Bum, and Yoo Seung Ho) based on her feelings of who couldn’t get past the ‘friend zone’. First place was taken by Lee Min Ho, while Yoo Seung Ho placed fifth.
Park Shin Hye explained, “Despite Yoo Seung Ho choosing me as his ideal woman some time ago, he hit me really hard in a ”ttakbam’ game. It actually made him seem more like a close friend to me.”

She also addressed a recent picture, where she looked depressed over the deadlines for her class registrations. She clarified, “I was able to register for all of my classes by the deadline, but I eventually had to take academic leave for my drama schedule. I feel really apologetic for that.”

Sometime into the airtime, Shin Hye sang live. The song she sang was her duet with Lee Min Jung in Cyrano Agency (2010) called "It was you". She later commented, “I’d love to guest in a song with Brown Eyed Soul.”.

For the last song selection, Shin Hye picked FTisland's "Love Sick" in support of her friend Lee Hongki.

After the show ended, Shin Hye thanked her fans through her twitter. She expressed that she was very nervous and that her heart was beating rapidly, but she managed to finish her task because of her fans' support. She said that she will strive "to be a better Shin Hye". She also thanked her Korean fans for the delicious fruit plates.

[VIDEO] Razortv Singapore interviews Park Shin Hye

We reported earlier that Shin Hye was interviewed during the VIP Ferragamo showcase in Singapore on March 10 2011.

Shin Hye sat down with RazorTV Singapore before the showcase started and talked about her acting career, Hallyu drama "You're Beautiful" (2009), movie "Cyrano Agency"(2010) as well as her upcoming dramas "Hayate the Combat Butler" and "Festival".

She admits that she has a 'wild' side in real life. However, the 21-year-old looked anything but wild when she attended Italian luxury label Ferragamo's Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion Show at Paragon recently. Dressed in a flirty frock with her hair pulled into a low ponytail, she was a picture of feminine charm and sweetness.

Shin Hye maintained she is not the tomboy that she played in idol drama You're Beautiful. In the show, her character pretended to be her twin brother in order to join a fictional boy band. 'I'm pretty feminine in real life,' said Park. 'But I have a wild side too.'

When pressed to name one of the wildest things she had ever done, she cited 'kickboxing', much to the amusement of those around her.

She also revealed which of her gorgeous co-stars from You're Beautiful, Jang Geun Suk or Jung Yong Hwa, she would date in real life.

Shin Hye greets her fans through the interview in 3 different languages - Korean, English & Chinese and shows her adorable, girly personality.

Check out the interview below (it's in English):

Water & Food for Japan (aka Why I’m Giving up Coffee)

Hello fellow Park Shin Hye fans,

I am sure that by now all of you are tired of all our Twitter and Facebook messages that bug you guys to donate to Japan.. So today I am going to share with you a little excerpt of my diary:

"Day 1: Trying to survive without coffee today. Not much fun. :P
Day 2: Studying til 5am for my big test tomorrow.. need coffee.
Day 3: Coffee…please… any will do…please…I’m dying here!"

Don’t worry, I’m still alive.
But I cannot say the same for those in Japan.

Since several people have asked, here’s the scoop:
I, the ultimate Starbucks-fan(I am an ultimate Park Shin Hye fan, too!!!), am giving up coffee… and fruit juice… and soda(I’m allergic to soft drinks anyway)… everything except tap water.

Why?
3 days ago I visited my local Starbucks as usual( I drink a grande skim-milk Latte everyday). While I was waiting for my cup of coffee to be brewed, I thought about what I could do more for Japan. You see, I am just a student without a job or monthly income. And then it hit me:

"If I give up latte for a month, I will be able to save $100 USD to help Japan. ($3.33 x 30  $100)"

Japan needs the $100 more than Starbucks does. And the Japanese need warm food and water more than I need lattes.

On March 11th, a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 8.9 struck Japan. 8000 died, 13000 are missing, 500,000 lost their homes. Among those who died, 6 heroes who were engineers at the Fukushima nuclear power plant sacrificed their lives for the nation’s safety. Reports are still coming in, but it appears that many schools, hospitals and other buildings have collapsed.

Some of you might drink a coffee every day. Some of you might take taxis/drive to your work/school. Some of you eat out every day/night. Would you be willing to give it up for two weeks, or more, to help people in Japan?

Here are some replies from our members:

- Liz from the USA said she is going to drive less this week for Japan.
- Ridj from Indonesia said she is going to pack lunch instead of eating out for Japan.
- Sean said he is going to take the train(subway) 3 times more than he usually does, to save money for Japan. - Dorothy from the USA is going to give up her Starbucks run (hey, just like me!).
- Katie from New Zealand said she is going to take the bus to work instead of taxi.
- Raine from the Philippines said for Japan, she is willing to give up her happiness for a day.

My good friend Kenes said she has been saving up for a Hawaiian vacation with her family. But she has decided to cancel the trip and donate all the money to Red Cross’s Japan relief fund….etc.

The people of Japan continue to suffer so much and we can all do something to help.

The question is – will you join us? We would love to see people around the world participating in this challenge.  Here’s what you can do:
1. Decide what you are willing to give up in a daily life: could be anything from a coffee, snack to even a bus ticket – walk to work, or ride a bicycle!
2. Decide how long you will give those up
3. Calculate how much you can save
4. Use the savings to donate

From now on until March 24 2011 11:59pm (Korean local time GMT +9), we will be accepting donations from fans and friends worldwide on behalf of Park Shin Hye and KFHI 기아대책. ALL proceeds will be donated to KFHI 기아대책's Japan relief fund. For every $8 USD or more donation made from now until the fundraiser finishes, ANJELL Haven will be sending their official sticky notes as a Thank You Gift for your generosity. More info here: http://www.shinhye.org/2011/03/fundraiser-for-japan.html

What’s KFHI?

Korea Food for the International is a non-profitable organization established in 1989 as a national organization in support of food for the Hungry International(FHI). KFHI was the first NGO registered in Korea to send aid to foreign countries. KFHI is incorporated in Switzerland and maintains on-going programs in over 74 countries located in Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Eastern Europe.

Shin Hye has also joined forces with non-profit Korean organization "기아대책 KFHI" in promoting its Japan fundraising project.  Since the donation link on "기아대책 KFHI" 's website only accepts Korean citizens' donation (require Korean id #), we at Park Shin Hye International Fanclub has joined Shin Hye in this meaningful event. With approval and help from her team, we will now be receiving donations and forwarding them to "기아대책 KHFI".

If you’re not a part of the donation project yet, why not join us now? It’ll be good for you and for some families in Japan who are not all that different from yours except that they lack clean drinking water and food.

Please find out more donation methods besides Paypal here:
http://www.shinhye.org/2011/03/fundraiser-for-japan.html

Or you can go online to organizations like the Red Cross and Mercy Corps to make a contribution to the disaster relief efforts

Yes, right now my hands are shaking, and I am falling asleep although it’s only 5pm in the afternoon. And I don’t think I can stay up tonight revising for my exams without coffee. But hey, I am proud to say that, I am indeed making a difference to this world.

Yours sincerely,
The Starbucks & Park Shin Hye fan
(I am too embarrassed to sign my name. So..please don’t try to guess who I am, thanks ^^ )

PS: Starbucks, I miss you.
