Park Shin Hye Makes Another Splash

Actress Park Shin-hye, who became popular with the success of TV soap opera "You're Beautiful," in which she starred, is increasing her fame with the hit movie "Cyrano Agency" and animation film "Green Days," in which she voices the central character.

"You're Beautiful" is currently being aired throughout Asia. "Green Days" was invited to the 15th Pusan International Film Festival, which ended Friday. On "Cyrano Agency," Park said, "It was great fun shooting that film, but the role itself was challenging. I felt that I have a lot to learn about expressing subtlety that is required when you portray someone in love. Maybe it's that I'm so young and need to get more experience."



Although she once hosted some TV shows, now she wants to focus on her acting career. "I don't want to play it safe, but I want to build my image up steadily one step at a time. If I have any ambition, it would be returning the love I've got from so many people," she said.

Star Angel 2011 Birthday Project Donation

Calling out to all our Star Angels!

It’s almost that time of year again, not Christmas if that was what you were thinking. We’re talking about Park Shin Hye’s birthday which is just around the corner and as her International Fanclub, we are now preparing for it.

For her 21st birthday, we and her international fans had gathered together and were able to give her some very nice gifts, such as the “S” pendant necklace from Tiffany & Co. and the Coach keychains. Not only that, but we were able to raise about $1000 USD for UNICEF as part of the Haiti Earthquake relief in the name of Park Shin Hye. For her very first fanmeeting in Japan, we have bought with the donation money, a Burberry Blue Label bag, a Swarovski ring, and Mimco hairclips. For the A.N.SHOW in Taiwan, along with our Star Angels accessories collection from every part of the world, the admins from PSHIFC decided upon additional presents on behalf of our Fanclub. Although the presents were from our own pockets, we happily sent Shin Hye a Tiffany & Co. bracelet, Diana F+ camera, handmade jewelries from the Philippines, a bouquet of flowers (which was tossed on stage only to be given by Keun Suk to Shin Hye), and a “I ♥ Hacci” lightsign.

As we are a nonprofit organization, we rely heavily on our expenses being paid from our own pockets and/or from contribution/donation. What we would like to ask all star angels today is to join hands with us in donating for the birthday project we will be doing for Shin Hye’s 22nd birthday.

Here’s how it works. We are asking every star angels to send in any amount from your generous hearts. Donation is not mandatory but we would be ever grateful for any who can contribute.

And here’s how PSHIFC rewards YOU for your generosity. For those who will be donating at least $5 USD, you will be sent an exclusive Park Shin Hye International Fanclub bookmark and sticker.

Please note that all proceeds raised will go towards the Birthday Project, which includes presents for Shin Hye and additional funds will be donated to a Charity (which we will decide upon at a later date). What a year! Our ups and our downs... wait.. the year hasn't even ended yet!

I want to take all of us back onto memory lane and to the very beginning for our special Park Shin Hye Birthday Project 2011 launch!

It has almost been a year since You're Beautiful ended, the time spent on soompi's drama thread moved onto Shin Hye's thread and a subbing team formed into a website.. well now 2!

We were all there at the very beginning and since taking up this.. what shall I call it? extra curricular fangirl-ing leadership? we've never looked back!

Through the ups and downs of life and fangirl-ing, we've struggled and persevered because all of our Star Angels has always been there to encourage us! So thank you our Star Angels, because of you all - we want to work harder and harder for every one of you!

Our achievements this year speaks louder than words and we are so proud that we were able to achieve our motto 'bringing you closer to our ever Shining Star!' for all our Star Angels. I truly felt like this year, we have learnt so much about Shin Hye and who she really is not just as an actress but as a person and a friend. At the same time, I feel so elated that at the same time we are learning about Shin Hye, she also knows about our existence and our Star Angels!

Some of you maybe wondering why we are launching this project particularly early?

Co-ordinating international projects are never easy, the admins felt that it was necessary to prepare all our Star Angels and ourselves for the big day in February 2011. We really appreciate all our Star Angels for always being very active with our projects and we want to give them as much time as we can for this project as it will be extremely special for Shin Hye!!

As we want to make Shin Hye's 22nd birthday even more special and personal from our Star Angels, we decided to call upon our Star Angels to send in your very own personalised Birthday Card for Shin Hye!

Together we will be turning all these personalised Birthday Cards into a Birthday Card scrap book!

In addition we will ask all our Star Angels to fold a Star Origami to fill a glass jar. This way, whenever Shin Hye looks at those stars, she'll think of us and how we are always thinking of her and supporting her.

The London Korean Film Festival 2010 (http://www.koreanfilm.co.uk/) has recently announced its movie playlist. Among the 26 movies listed is "Green Days", the cartoon that Shin Hye did voice dubbing for.

"Green Days" will make its first screenplay in London theatres on Novemer 13 2010, followed by a Q&A session with movie directors Jae-Hoon An and Hye-Jin Han.

"Hayate" filming postponed to give their character a makeover

GTV previously announced their new drama project, “Hayate the Combat Butler” at the Taipei Television Festival back in September. But its filming has been put on hold for almost a month now because their initial character images were unsatisfactory, and lacking prestige.  While they were getting a makeover, lead actress Park Shin Hye went back to Korea for a month break. She returned just a few days ago to resume filming with the rest of the cast. Tia Li, who’s playing the house maid in the drama, was not in her maid wardrobe; instead, she looked elegant with her curled hair and high heels.

George Hu was spotted chatting with Tia, and so the media asked if he had been mesmerized by the model, but George quickly explained, “I was only asking her how to set up a micro-blog.” It turned out that George has been quite outdated with the internet. With many celebs opening micro-blogs lately, George also wanted to hop onto the bandwagon. Tia simply instructed, “Just write what ever you like, and that’s it!”

It is GTV’s first time working with a Korean actress; taking things seriously, they asked all the actors to rehearse the script at the production company before filming. Tia expressed that she is very nervous as it is her first drama (she had a cameo role in Summer’s Desire), but she also feels very lucky to be working with George, complimenting that he’s polite and good looking.

"Cyrano Agency" places at No. 1 once again

Korean romantic comedy "Cyrano Agency" has placed at the top spot on the local box office once again, taking its third consecutive win in the country.

According to the Korean Box Office System (KOBIS) on Monday, "Cyrano Agency," starring Uhm Tae-woong and Park Shin-hye, was the most-watched movie in the country, attracting 244,757 moviegoers during the weekend of October 8 to 10 to rake in over a total two million admits since opening in theaters on September 16.

"Cyrano Agency," helmed by director Kim Hyun-seok, is about two love agents (Uhm and Park) who help their client (Choi Daniel) win over the girl of his dream (Lee Min-jung).

New release "Detective Dee," starring Chinese actors Andy Lau and Carina Lau, bowed into second place in the local box office, selling 190,387 tickets and Korean comedy tentatively titled "Banga? Banga!" held on the No. 3 spot with 184,658 admits.

Hollywood romantic comedies "Letters To Juliet" and "Eat Pray Love" ranked in fourth and fifth place, respectively, with 136,902 and 80,555 tickets sold.

Other films on the top 10 included "Despicable Me," "The Invincibles," "The Man From Nowhere," "Trapped" and "Resident Evil: Afterlife."
